How We Work With Our Clients

Our goal is to listen carefully to each client and to then offer a customized product that meets our client's needs at a price within our client's budget.

1. DREAM. We start by listening to what you want. We sit down with you and discuss your home, what you see as the problem, and what you are trying to accomplish.

2. PLAN. We then work with you to create a plan that addresses the issues you have pointed out, and which meets your wants and needs. We will help you develop a project that addresses your needs in the most cost-effective way possible.  We will write up and illustrate the project in a detailed yet concise manner so that your expectations are clear, and we will prepare a realistic budget so that you will know what the project will cost.

We charge a nominal fee for our design consultation services, which is applied to the overall cost of the project should you decide to allow Sugar Hill Building and Design to construct the project.

3. DO.Construction of the project is much more likely to go smoothly because our company is familiar with the customer, the home, the problem, and the solution.

We Are A Design-Build Company

The process described here is called "design-build". We believe this process is highly efficient - you get the advantage of working with one company from planning and budgeting to completion of construction. The design-build process adds convenience and consistency from beginning to end of your project.

You, as the client, are a critical member of the design-build team. Your input is essential - your wishes, concerns, requirements, and budget are top of mind during this process. Because we are working together through these phases you are able to get valuable feedback from the contractor so that the budget can be taken into account during the design process.

As a design-build firm, we charge a design fee in addition to a construction fee. Design fee covers our time and expertise used to create a buildable plan.  You, as the customer, participate in the process by communicating your wishes and needs, goals and budget for your project.
